In Line

Yes, I’m insane.

I’m currently in line for the iPhone, with about 5 and a half hours to go before actually buying on. Word is that James Lileks will be showing up here this afternoon.

So far, I’d estimate about 60-70 people are in line in front of the Apple Store, which proves that there’s no shortage of nerds like me with far too much time on our hands.

Then again, I have my Criminal Procedure book with me, which means that I’m actually getting something done. However, the next time I decide to wait in line for some big gadget, I’m definitely bringing a chair…

UPDATE: Here’s a view of the line, taken a few moments ago:

  1. And just think, once you finish standing in line for the iPhone, you’ll have to spend a few more hours in line waiting to get in to overcrowded theaters airing the debut of Michael Moore’s “Sicko”.

  2. Madness. You gotta love that resolute Republican work ethic.

Actually, it was a very productive day. I got a major amount of work done while waiting in line.

Actually, I Netflixed Triumph of the Will — I like my propaganda to at least contain decent cinematography…

  3. Eh, Moore’s a pretty damn good propagandist. I saw Sicko last night, and while he wasn’t in top form (it was no Farenheit 9/11), it was still pretty well crafted. But it was more dishonest and one-sided than his last two films, if such as a thing is possible. Yowza.
