That said, I feel nothing over the death of merceneries. They aren’t in Iraq because of orders, or because they are there trying to help the people make Iraq a better place. They are there to wage war for profit. Screw them.

Those people were in Fallujah trying to help the Iraqis, they were former US soldiers, they were Americans, and they were human beings.

UPDATE: Now Kos is trying to back away from his words, with a half-assed quasi-apology. Here’s a hint – it wasn’t your choice of words that was offensive, it was the sentiments behind them, and those sentiments have not changed. Of course, his original comment is still there.

In his article about the Unity Dinner (Mar 29th), Kos says, “And perhaps that’s why we desperately need Kerry to win. So that we can go back to obsessing over bjs and pardons.” He won’t even acknowledge that we are currently at war, a war the muslims started, and the only way to pull the troops out of Iraq now is by surrendering. Or defeat. Instead, if Kerry is elected, all will be sunshine and goodness, muslims will rejoice and hold hands with Jews, and the American public can go back to “obsessing over bjs and pardons”. What a moron.
He is a coward who revels in our deaths, like most leftists, then refuses to back up his words when challenged. Tries to forward the idea that if a person has to defend his life doing his work, he deserves to die. He makes no distinction that the four killed were protecting a food shipment into Falujah, while the mob that killed them were the recipients of that food, and most likely former members of the Baath party who had tortured, raped and killed thousands of their fellow countrymen.
Okay Kos, if people who go to work armed are okay to kill, then how do you feel about the Police? How about bank guards. Nuclear power plant guards? Oh, that’s right, as long as it’s an oppressed minority doing the killing, its okay.

Whether it’s a highly-paid Mercenary or a uniformed grunt getting his hazard pay cut, the death of any American citizen in a foreign conflict touches us all. We should agree on this.
And we should remember the fallen – all of the fallen, be they Soldier or Soldier of Fortune.

Please remember that some of the fallen first took a solemn vow to defend our Constitution and our nation against all enemies, foreign and domestic. They sacrificed their lives and their sacred honor for us. Think of that when you’re tying a yellow ribbon around the tree.

It’s also nice how you reduce everything to politics – those people were having their memories slandered by a disgusting troll and they deserve to have the world know who they were. Calling them “mercenaries” and telling their families “screw you” is so far beyond the pale that Kos should never have a job in politics again (and probably won’t by the time this is over).
If you want to retain a shred of consistancy, then I’d like to see you say that John Kerry is being an “asshole” for constantly mentioning the war in Vietnam. After all, he’s exploiting the dead for political purposes – after he spent years pissing on their graves with false accusations. And anytime the Democrats bring up the body count in Iraq – well, I guess they’re being assholes too. After all, that is using the war for political gain as well.
The difference, of course, being that I’m holding these people up as being the best of this country and honoring them as something more than bodies being hung from bridges, while Kos and his ilk are taking a piss on their memory. They deserve better than that, and anyone with an ounce of spine and humanity should fully repudiate not only that statement, but the twisted principle behind it.

It amazed me on what people say about these men. One as a matter of fact is my uncle. He from what I understand did not make all this money that people are saying they got.
