The House of Saud is launching an effort to increase political participating in Arab countries in an effort to modernize the Arab world.
My guess is that the phrase "political participation" doesn’t apply to women, or anyone who dissents from the status quo. Nor does it apply to anyone who actually wants real political freedom. Unless the Arab world is ready to ditch shari’a, religious police, and stifling the political and social rights of women, they will remain entombed in the fourteenth century.
