Smart Tags Aren’t

If you were to visit this site with Internet Explorer 6, this is what you’d see. Rather than risk having IE6 attempt to exert editorial control over my site, I’ve decided to ban IE from accessing the site. The use of "Smart Tags" allows Microsoft to insert it’s own links into websites without your permission. For a more detailed article on the subject, check out this article at A List Apart. Just because MS is a monopoly doesn’t mean web developers have to play ball with them. (Yes, there’s a supposed META tag that will eliminate Smart Tags, but it doesn’t work, and I’m not going to add META tags for every page I make because MS tells me to.)
