Thanksgiving in Afghanistan

There’s a wonderful blog with some very moving images from a liberated Afganistan. This is what we were fighting for – a world that is peaceful, hopeful, and prosperous. The people of Afghanistan weren’t liberated by negotiations or trying to "understand" al-Qaeda – they were liberated by brave American and Afghani soldiers who knew that the Taliban and al-Qaeda were cancers on the nation of Afghanistan that needed to be removed else they kill the once-proud nation. As we head into the Christmas season, images like this should be a reminder to us all that our freedoms are by no means assured. It takes brave men and women who are willing to fight for our freedoms to ensure that they will survive to the next generation. It is a lesson that the people of Afghanistan will surely never forget as they rediscover the freedoms they once had.
