Au revior, ABM

President Bush has given notice the US is backing out of the 1972 ABM Treaty. This is no surprise, Bush has said that the ’72 treaty isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on, but it’s great to see a President with the guts to stand up to the liberal left, even if it means offending Moscow. Of course, Moscow isn’t letting it stand in the way of US-Russian relations. This move is a good one for securing the US (and Europe, and Israel) from ballistic missile attack. Homeland Security doesn’t just mean protecting from one threat – it means being able to protect against all of them. With the recent successes of anti-missile weaponry, now is the time to go ahead with protecting American lives.
