Ranesh Ponnuru points out an analysis from Martin Sieff of UPI that
warns that Le Pen still can become President of France. I’m skeptical, but
stranger things have happened. (After all, my state’s governor is a former
pro wrestler.) Le Pen might help some of France’s ills, but his xenophobic brand
of protectionism would completely destroy the French economy, and possibly take
Europe with it. In this case, the French people truly must choose the lesser of two
evils.
