Attack Of The Soundtracks

I picked up the soundtract to the new Star Wars movie this weekend,
and it’s been playing almost constantly throughout the last three days. While John
Williams can sometimes be seeming to rip himself off, this soundtrack is another
example of why he’s quite likely America’s greatest living composer. The second
track is a typical Williams piece with a relatively simple melody surrounded by
lushly orchestrated strings and powerful brass. While there’s nothing quite as
powerful as "Duel of the Fates" from the Episode 1 soundtrack, this is
still a disc that’s well worth checking out. I have a feeling that the love theme for
Padme and Anakin is going to be stuck in my head for quite some time now.
