Dinesh D’Souza has a good piece in McNews… err… USAToday that what
America needs to sell
is our virtue as much as our freedom. It’s a great point – in a system like that
of the United States freedom and virtue are intertwined. Unfortunately, people in
the Arab world probably don’t read much Locke, Jefferson, or Burke. I agree that
the United States needs to use it’s position of moral superiority over the backwards
theocracies of the Arab world. It’s not politically correct, but we can’t win unless
we’re willing to make our case clearly, loudly, and forcefully.
