The folks at AOpen have created a computer motherboard that uses
vacuum tubes for audio output. Yes, vacuum tubes. Now there are some audiophiles who say that vacuum tubes produce better sound, but what dyed-in-the-wool audiophile would listen to music that’s already been digitally processed to death through a computer and say that the vacuum tubes would make a difference.
How about inventing a computer with an internal 45 record player? Then you might put those vacuum tubes to real use…
