The Washington Times has an interesting article about Paul Wolfowitz’s (Deputy Secretary of Defense) speech at the Heritage Foundation on the dangers of radical Islamic extremism. His points are good ones for discussions on the war. We’re not fighting a war against Islam, but a radical and dangerous sect that wants to drag the world kicking and screaming back into the Middle Ages. As the article notes:
Islamic terrorist factions such as Osama bin Laden’s al Qaeda organization are attacking Western values in addition to physical targets, he said.
The values they are attack, however, are not just American values but universal values, he said.
Truer words are rarely spoken.
