Encounter With Evil

This interview with a government worker who
met Mohammad Atta, the ringleader of the September 11 killers when he applied for a federal agricultural loan
to buy a cropduster. In hindsight, it seems obvious that something was wrong with Atta from the get-go, but before September 11, who would have thought he was anything other than the many nutballs out there?

What’s also odd is that Atta and his group wanted to get their hands on a cropduster, and one of the hijackers had the symptoms of cutaneous anthrax. Somehow that idea of a domestic anthrax terrorist seems less and less likely.
