What Being An American Is All About

Pat Tillman, the former NFL player who walked away from a multimillion-dollar contract to serve his country was killed in action in southeast Afghanistan.

Former Cardinals head coach Dave McGinnis said he felt both overwhelming sorrow and tremendous pride in Tillman, who “represented all that was good in sports.”

“Pat knew his purpose in life,” McGinnis said. “He proudly walked away from a career in football to a greater calling.”

If you want to know what a true hero is, look no farther.

UPDATE: Spoons suggests naming the new Arizona Cardinals stadium after Tillman. This would be a fitting tribute to a great American.

UPDATE: This is disgusting – apparently the Command Post had to deal with a flood of trolls that decided to piss all over Mr. Tillman’s grave.

When I say that the radical left hates America, this is exactly the kind of thing I mean. There’s no excuse for such behavior – and personally, if I’d been running the Command Post, I’d keep the comments online so people could know what kind of sick people there are out there.
