The Climate Of Fear

Tim Blair has a report from deep within the American climate of fear via The Guardian.

Yes, why I heard of someone who spoke out against Bush, and he was quickly taken to a third-world hellhole (France) beaten severely with a torture instrument called a "Palme D’Or" and was apparently force-fed hamburgers until he was one fry short of collapsing into a singularity. From the way he talked it sounded like all the abuse had completely fried his brain.

Seriously, anyone who thinks that people are being arrested for speaking out on Iraq clearly doesn’t occupy the same world as the rest of the country. Last time I checked you had more chance of getting a book deal than getting arrested for saying something stupid about Bush…

  1. The political left has lost it…they really have. But they don’t care…they subscribe to the philosophy that if one repeats a lie enough times then it comes to be seen as the truth, and moreso if the lie is stated in the most strident terms possible and is shouted at maximum volume.

Unfortunately, I think we conservatives are taking this all lying down and not fighting back enough. Where are the conservative 527’s as well organized and funded as moveon.org? Kerry doesn’t have to run attack ads against Bush; he has these surrogates to do it for him.

  2. Our lives are at stake and the liberals are busy playing politics.

We conservatives need not be complacent and be at least as fired up for our cause as the liberals are. We need to work harder; it is our lives that are at stake.

For if Kerry were elected, we can be certain that he would be weak on the terrorists; a Kerry victory means more terrorist attacks on our own soil, and very likely more catastrophic than 9-11.

Look at what the Clinton presidency got us: a huge and growing terrorist problem culminating in 9-11, along with nukes in North Korea. Well, Clinton may have been bad, but compared to Kerry, Clinton was Ronald Reagan.

  3. Here is what a Kerry presidency would hold: cut and run in Iraq; appeasement of North Korea; a downplaying of the terrorist threat; following the lead of the UN; an emphasis on process over results.

This would go along and Kerry would tell us everything was OK until we would wake up one day to our next 9-11.

The liberals need to realize that it is their lives at stake as well; there were liberals who died in 9-11 as well.

Unfortunately, the liberals seem to have forgotten that.
