Brink Lindsay covers
a speech by writer Gore Vidal where he insults the military, accuses the US
of global terrorism, and generally makes an ass of himself.
What makes this speech more notable than the usual far-Left diatribe is that
it was sponsored by the Independence Institute, a libertarian think-tank. I’m sure
Gore Vidal believes in free markets, individual liberty, and limited government. Not
only that, but the meeting was sponsored by Harper’s magazine, which is
one of the more Left-leaning magazines in the US. One wonders if the Independence
Institute has any idea what a libertarian really is…
