The BBC is now reporting that
Pim Fortuyn is dead, having been killed by multiple gunshot wounds. Fortuyn
was a crusader against the liberal immigration laws of the Netherlands, and an
outspoken critic of Islamic immigrants. Should his death have been at the hands
of an Islamic extremist, it would blatantly prove the point he was trying to make
about the masses of unassimilated immigrants that come into Europe each year.
UPDATE: It appears as though Fortuyn has died from gunshot wounds
sustained in the attack, according to sources quoting Dutch TV. No word yet on
the identity of the attacker.
