The American Kaiser has some words of wisdom from Chen Keinan, who lost both her infant daughter and her mother in a recent sucide attack. They’re well worth reposting here:
CNN: How do you see the future? How do you see this unfold?
Chen: I’ll tell you how I see the future: I think Israel is like the canary in the coal mine, and that’s what the Europeans – and I am sorry, I know this goes to Europe, and I said different [more positive] things to America [on CNN-USA] – but we in Israel are dying now. We are slaughtered on a daily basis, but – you’re next! You’re next, buddies. I understand that you have a lot of Muslim minorities. That’s OK, everybody should live where he wants – but you are appeasing terrorism! And you hope that if you tolerate it, and try to understand its motives, and you give it reasons, whatever they are… I ask the Europeans: Do not tolerate murder! I don’t want to use the word terrorism, because it’s banal. Do not tolerate murder, do not appease the terrorists! Not for oil, and not because you’re scared – because the more fear you show, the faster it’s going to be on your doorstep – and then, G-d help you, because you gave it legitimacy. And my baby’s blood is just as precious as any French blood — G-d help these hypocritical people…
She’s right. How long will it be before we start having terrorist attacks in Europe, or on the streets of New York or Los Angeles. Aren’t the Israelis as deserving of living a life in peace as we are? Then why are we so reticent to let them protect themselves.
Imagine is September 11 happened at least once a month. Wave after wave of death, day after day. Imagine having to wait to go buy groceries when the crowds are gone because the suicide bombers are attracted to crowds. Imagine wondering if that man next to you on the bus is going to kill you and everyone else just because you have a different name for God. Imagine praying each night that you and your family aren’t next on the casualty lists.
That’s what day-to-day life is like in Israel now.
We Americans would never tolerate living like that. We would fight back until every last murderer was forever expunged from the Earth. Now, we have th hypocrisy and the utter gall to tell the Israelis not to do the same.
Shame on us for not standing up for freedom when we could.
We’re next on the terrorists agenda, and if we don’t make a strong stand now, we will be living the nightmare scenario that Israel now faces. Because we didn’t stand now, we will pay later, and we will pay in blood. Let’s just hope that the Israelis fight back and hard. They know what genocide is like, and they will not go quietly. This war isn’t about a Palestinian state anymore, it’s about the right for six million people to live after six million died fifty years ago. It’s about a free and open state fighting against a wave of fascism that would see the world drowned in blood. Make no mistake, this war can either be fought and won in the Middle East now, or it will be fought in our own territory, with American civilians learning the hard lessons that Israel has learned over the years: capitulation to murderers does not work.
