Rep. James Traficant (D-OH), has been
expelled from the House of Representatives for accepting bribes and kickbacks. The vote was 420-1, with only Gary Condit voting against Traficant’s expulsion. (With friends like that, who needs enemies?!)
Traficant’s expulsion should be a warning to civil servants who misuse their position: even members of Congress are responsible for their actions. While it’s unfortunate that it has come to this; those who abuse their positions deserve what they get.
