When the crew of the fictional starship Enterprise want to protect themselves from weapons fire, they "polarize their hull plating".
I wonder if any tank drivers are Enterprise fans? If so, maybe that’s the term they’ll adopt for it: “Polarize the hull plating!” 🙂
Of course, a tank isn’t a ship of any sort. Still, the term could be modified to simply “Polarize the armor plating” to be more appropriate to the vehicle. 😉
