ElectionWatch 2002

The turnout in Minnesota is expected to be very high with the Coleman/Mondale race the seat of attention for many voters. The polling place I went to wasn’t too packed, but there was a steady stream of people coming in and out, especially college students. The voting machine had registered 231 votes before mine, which isn’t bad for arriving before noon.

Chances are with the high turnout and the handcounting of ballots we won’t have a clear figure on the Senate race until early tomorrow morning (around 2:30am or so). Even then, expect the Dems to go into full-on lawsuit mode and challenge as many races as they think they can get away with. If they can’t win at the ballot box, chances are they’ll try to win at the courthouse.
