UN weapons inspectors have found 11 empty chemical weapon warheads and another which is still awaiting testing. The warheads were not declared on Iraq’s weapons declaration and are violation of several UN declarations and treaties.
Even the UN inspectors are calling the mood in Iraq tense as it is clear that Saddam’s efforts at deception are slowly failing. It is becoming increasingly likely that the only recourse to remove the threat of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction is war, despite all the opportunities Saddam has had to unilaterally disarm.
UPDATE: The Iraqis are claiming that they did declare the rockets. They’re also trying to downplay the discovery as much as they can. The White House reaction to this will be very interesting.
