Apparently, the background for his speech on the American economy was – gasp – a fake! And boxes that were labelled with the words "Made in China" were – gasp – covered up!
Clearly we should get the impeachment tribunal up and running immediately.
In all serious, the proper reaction to this would be "so what?" Speeches such as this are always more theater than substance. Everything that happens in them is carefully crafted so nothing might possibly disturb the message. (Having had the opportunity to assist in a Presidential address I can personally testify to the level of detail that goes into each and every one of them.) So if there were boxes that might have Chinese labels on them, of course they’re going to be covered up. It’s the way politics works.
In other words, if this is banner headline news someone needs to find the million more interesting and important stories out there.

As true as your comments are, might it be an indication that Drudge is running the same headline that Bush may be in for a rocky stretch here? And might it also be a ray of hope for all of us who really wish to see some authenticity return to our politics?
