Steven Den Beste thinks the US/UK resolution now in the UN Security Council is a horrendously bad move. I’m starting to agree with them.
We need to stop pussyfooting around diplomatically and militarily. We need Colin Powell to get on the floor of the UN Security Coucil and make a stand. Call the Axis of Weasels to account and ask them point blank: "Do you want to disarm Saddam Hussein or not?"
If they say no (which the won’t) or try to obfuscate the answer (which they certainly will), then the US should walk out of Security Coucil. Let the French be the ones whose intransigence has killed the UN. Make Villepin sweat and spin and lie and obfuscate, but whatever Powell does, it should clearly make appear to be the weasel that he is.
The waiting game is what’s killing us. Each day of delay only gives advantage to our enemies. We already know the outcome of this second resolution, so why the hell are we bothering it? We know what we have to do, and we know that our European "allies" of France and German don’t have the cojones to do it. Now is not the time for diplomatic pissing matches with the Axis of Weasels. Now is the time to finish the job.
