The Irish Times is reporting that the US will likely wait until Monday for a vote on a second UN resolution to disarm Saddam Hussein. The other option is to invade without such a resolution.
Personally, I’ve mixed feelings. A second resolution is not necessary under the terms of 1441, and is essentially a waste of time. However, it would be good to see the Security Coucil "put their cards on the table" as the President said and have a straight up-or-down vote on the use of force. Still, the most important thing is that Saddam Hussein be disarmed – with or without the UN’s approval.
