President Bush has just addressed the nation, announcing the beginning of the removal of the Hussein regime. Cruise missiles and F-117 bombers have hit targets relating to the leadership of the Iraqi regime.
The President has promised that this will be a war that will not be conducted with half-measures. His speech was a classic example of Jacksonian philosophy – we will meet the enemy with overwhelming firepower, we will liberate the Iraqi people, and then we will leave.
The war has begun, and the liberation of Iraq is soon to follow. May God watch over our forces, and may victory be near.
