ABC is reporting that intelligence indicates that three key Iraqi officials have been killed including Ali Hassan Majid, then man responsible for the gas attacks against the Kurds in 1988. Key Hussein confidents Taha Yasin Ramadan and Izzat Ibrahaim al Douri are also believed to have been killed in the bombing attacks.
This is exceptionally good news, as Chemical Ali is one of the most evil men in Hussein’s regime. He was also in charge of the southern quadrant of the Iraqi defense operation, meaning that the southern flank of the Iraqi army is likely to be in shambles from the loss of leadership and the US advance.
I intend to have a glass of something good in celebration, and rumor has it that Hell is getting the VIP section ready for this mass-murderer.
Well.. I can’t say I will mourn the deaths of any of these three men, Ali Majid especially. But what of the CIA men who aided and abetted the Iraqi regime in gassing those same Kurds who we now try to pass off as our friends? When will they get the justice they deserve? The only thing I can say is I am glad for this war.. I am glad we are cleaning up a mess we were largely responsible for creating. This is responsible foreign policy in its purest form.
I don’t think so. US sources are now saying he probably isn’t dead.
Justin is right: This is a mess that we created, and it’s good to see that we’re dealing with what ensued.
Also, I’m sure that Ali’s one the Iraqis would love to see taken alive. He deserves to face his own people, rather than to die at the hands of the U.S. without answering for his deeds.
