The French have banned the use of the term ‘e-mail’ in the French language, standing by the French term ‘courrier electronique’ or ‘courriel’ for short.
Also to be banned from the French language are the terms "victory", "common sense", and "soap" as none of these concepts seem to exist in modern France.
Courriel has a much more pleasant ring to it than e-mail, a term that definitely took some getting used to. Not a bad move, IMHO.
“french” or “liberty” fries with that sir?
