Israeli Cabinet Agrees To Expel Arafat

Breaking from the remembrance of the September 11 atrocities, it is now being stated that the Israeli cabinet has agreed in principle to expel Yassir Arafat from the West Bank. The cabinet is now giving the IDF time to develop a strategy to extricate Arafat from his Ramallah compound.

Arafat has long been an enemy of the peace process and has nothing to gain and everything to lose in having a peace between Israel and the Palestinians. His removal will undoubtedly be difficult, but it is a necessary step towards making true progress against terrorism in the region.

It is believed that the United States shares in the approval process for this actions. In the interests of peace and regional security, President Bush should allow them to proceed.
