Chretien To Step Down

Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien will be stepping down in December instead of February as originally planned.

Chretien was probably the most uninspiring and vapid leader of any of the G7. While Bush is no orator, Chretien had the incredible gift of being bland and incomprehensible in both English and French, mumbling through speeches like Marlon Brando on downers. Unfortunately, his successor, Paul Martin will likely be more comprehensible, but no more wise than Chretien was.

  1. Aw, the man had his good points. He kept Quebec, he orchestrated a cutback inthe Canadian drug war, he ended marriage discrimination and, most of all, he wasn’t Brian Mulrooney.
