I’m convinced that Al Gore has completely lost it. His recent speech to Tennessee Democrats was a low point, even for Gore. Powerline has some thoughts on the speech, which was more of a red-faced rant than anything.
Gore clearly is either acting like an irresponsible partisan or a sore loser, and more outbursts like this will be more than enough to fuel weeks of ads. The raw anger of the Democrats is not a benefit to them, it’s exceptionally off-putting to voters – hence the Dean campaign’s crash and burn after the Iowa “I Have a Scream” speech.
Personally, I hope Al Gore has a long and bright political future – rants like that will ensure a backlash against the Democrats.
