The Party Of Hate

Matt Margolis of Blogs for Bush was assulted by a group of Democratic thugs in Boston.

We’re going to see a lot more of this in the next few months. The Democrats have become the party of hatred – a hatred that is like nothing in contemporary American politics. As much hatred as there was of Clinton during the 1990s, it never reached this kind of level.

I have a very strong and very frightening feeling that before this campaign is over there will be an attempt on President Bush’s life. When you demonize someone in the way the Democrats have, it only becomes a matter of time before someone takes the next step.

UPDATE: Matt Margolis has the full story on what happened. A reader at InstaPundit makes this chilling observation:

Something I never wanted to believe seems to be playing out daily: the Democratic party has been overrun by totalitarians. The party is marginalizing old-guard Dems who might (might!) hold differing opinions but who also could be counted on for civility and a rational basis for their arguments. . . .

There is no room for dissent, discourse, debate. My experience is that people behave this way when they hold indefensible beliefs, and they know just how weak their position is. A dog with this behavior is called a “fear-biter” and I can think of no better description for these people.

This chilling comment shows exactly what is wrong with the left – the same strain of totalitarianism that has been a fellow traveller with socialist movements for decades:

Hitler had his beliefs, just like Matt has his. Sometimes violence is the only way to show people how devastatingly bad their ideas are. When society is so distraught about policy that individuals feel the need to take violent action, revolution is not only expected, but neccessary. I’m no union man, but I’d have probably taken a swing at you too.

Evidently there’s a group of Democrats that no longer believe in the concept of democracy and instead have embrace the totalitarian notion of the rule of the mob.
