So Condoleezza Rice finally gave her testimony to the September 11 Commission. She did a decent job, but didn’t exactly hit it out of the park either.
On the other hand, she didn’t have to do much compared to the grandstanding of the commission members. It was grandstanding all around, with each of the committee members trying to get their own points in, sometimes not even related to the subject matter at hand.
I would have liked a “have you no decency” movement, but the attitudes of the commissioners showed exactly what kind of group this was – a group that seemed more interested in their own politics than finding the truth about September 11.
The fact is that we have learned the lessons of September 11 – which is why we have a Homeland Security Department, a PATRIOT Act, and why we’re attacking terrorism at its source rather than waiting for it to strike here.
It sounds you don’t want a public commission evaluating the “lessons” of September 11. Why not? Let the truth be told!
