An Iraqi group is targeting Abu Mus’an al-Zarqawi and demanding he leave Iraq. A similar group attacked and drove off the Mahdi Army of Moqtada al-Sadr earlier this year.
In a videotape sent to the al-Arabiya television station, a group calling itself the “Salvation Movement,” questioned how al-Zarqawi could use Islam to justify the killing of innocent civilians, the targeting of government officials and the kidnapping and beheading of foreigners.
“He must leave Iraq immediately, he and his followers and everyone who gives shelter to him and his criminal actions,” said a man on the video.
All I can say to this is good – the terrorists are finding that Iraq is not a fertile soil for terrorism and the Iraqi people are sick and tired of being pawns in al-Qaeda’s game to spread shari’a across the Middle East. The Iraqis know that if they can defeat the terrorists, we can leave as well, and the 160,000 US and coalition troops in the region can go home. They know that their path to sovereignty is through the utter defeat of Zarqawi and his gang of foreign thugs and Ba’athist dead-enders.
Good hunting to the "Salvation Movement" – let’s hope they drive the terrorists out of Iraq so that the Iraqi people no longer become victims to their thuggery.
