Microsoft actually creates a home page that doesn’t suck. The markup still doesn’t validate, and they don’t including a DOCTYPE, but other than that they actually didn’t do too bad a job. Considering that their previous page was a bloated monstrosity of nasty nested tables, this is quite the improvement.
Too bad IE still sucks like Monica Lewinsky holding an Electrolux in front of the event horizon of a supermassive black hole…
Anyone try the new Service Pack #2 yet? I’m waiting a few weeks so they have time to iron out any bugs.
I just installed it earlier today. So far nothing seems horrifically wrong. It’s new IE popup blocker seems to work fine; its killing what few popups break through the google toolbar. Haven’t tested the integrated firewall’s strength yet but I don’t expect or need much from that.
Can’t complain yet. I’m sure I will soon though…
I’ve avoided SP2 so far, although I may install it this weekend. I did install it on my sister’s computer, and it seemed to run fine afterwards.
Then again, since I use Firefox and Thunderbird exclusively, I don’t worry about popups, spyware, or email viruses.
Yay for Firefox!
