Sunday Catblogging

Well, since I now have a digital camera, it’s only natural I get in on the catblogging craze for today’s Carnival of the Cats.

So here’s a very lazy snowshoe (half Siamese, half shorthair) cat named Ming. He’s been with my family for about 16 years, and is as spoiled as they come.

Here’s a close up shot. He has the typical “what the hell are you doing now, monkey?” look on his face. His eyesight isn’t very good, so his eyes are fully dilated all the time. Fortunately he seems to get along just fine despite bad eyesight, diabetes, and athritis. He’s a cranky old fart sometimes, and loves his attention.

We got Ming at the local Animal Rescue League in Des Moines, Iowa. If you are ever looking for a loving pet, I cannot stress enough how good it is to take an animal from your local humane shelter or rescue league. Ming has been an absolutely wonderful pet and companion, and there are many more dogs and cats just like him waiting for a loving home.

  1. So, a cat-lover, too…another plus. I adopted the most pathetic looking rescue that had ear mites so bad, she walked crooked and disoriented, and I named her Tipsy. The guys dubbed her “Cock-head”. She turned out to be the prettiest, friendliest, best pet ever (and great hunter); such that friends and family keep threatening to take her home with them.
