Powerline reports on the latest CBS News poll (not typed on a 1972 typewriter, BTW) which has more bad news for Kerry. Not only is he down by 9 points, but the internals show Kerry’s support plummeting.

I’d be very curious to learn of the supposedly representative samples used to compose this CBS Poll, especially after recently learning the specifics of the laughably skewed Gallup Poll methodology. Gallup’s samples consisted of 40% Republicans, 33% Democrats and 23% Independents. No reasonable party affiliation statistics have suggested that Republicans enjoy a seven-point registration gap. In fact, most still show the Dems will a small advantage.
The same source that informed me of Gallup’s ridiculous samples also shared with me that Gallup’s final poll before the 2000 election showed Bush winning by 13 points. With that in mind, Bush’s mere 12-point advantage in this Gallup Poll should equate to a 2-point Kerry victory here on planet Earth. Pretty sad when a respected outfit like Gallup slants its poll methodology further to the right than GOP-funded Strategic Vision.
