Red State suggests that Bill Cosby would help make the NAACP relevant again. Cosby may be a diehard Democrat, but he’s also one of the few black leaders willing to stand up against the hip-hop culture that keeps many young blacks mired in drugs and crime. Not only that, but Cosby has a doctorate in education, a history of advocating for family issues, and can work across party lines to get things done.
I rather doubt he’d even be offered the job, but if anyone is to foster the kind of culture that will lead to a stronger African-American community in the United States, he would be it.
I didn’t know hip-hop kept blacks in their condition. I thought maybe uit had something to do with slavery or crack or to paraphrase El Hajj Malik El Shabazz (Malcolm X) , they’re “the victims of america”
