So, I get the new layout exactly the way I want it. Full-width, variable left column, fixed-width right sidebar. Everything looks wonderful, the new look is exciting, the design different but familiar. The code is 100% pure valid XHTML and CSS, and Safari, Opera, and Firefox all render it perfectly.
Then I test it in IE.
I breaks. Horribly.
God, I hate IE.
UPDATE: Thanks to the general stupidity of IE, the only way to get that type of layout to work is to create a three column layout with the far left column fixed at a very small size. Then it lays out (more or less) correctly, although IE insists on putting an entirely unnecessary (and annoying) horizontal scrollbar at the bottom of the screen.
Did I mention how much I hate IE?
Hello, I’m having trouble navigating your site. When I reach the bottom of the main page I can’t go any further.
I try reloading and it doesn’ work. It used to work fine, I could scroll down to the end. I’ve tried it on several computers
Any ideas?
Thanks
Yup, it’s because IE is completely idiotic and can render CSS worth a bloody damn.
The redesign should fix it…
