The Blog Explosion

The BBC reports that blog readership is continuing to explode, growing 58% in the last year.

On a related note, Hugh Hewitt’s new blook, appropriately titled Blog is out and looks to be excellent. I’ve not yet had the chance to read it, but the reviews have been glowing. Hewitt has a rather deep and impressive understanding of the blogosphere, and his book seems to be a good introduction into how the blogging world is slowly but surely challenging the mainstream media.

  1. After Hugh Hewitt claimed victory for Bush based on his September 30 debate performance, it’s hard to imagine anyone could take him seriously again.

  2. Well, after you predicted Kerry was going to win big, it’s hard to imagine anyone could take you seriously again.

Wait, does anyone actually take you seriously in the first place?

  3. I predicted Kerry was gonna win big? Sounds like a historical rewrite to me. I predicted four states incorrectly, guessing Kerry would pull out wins in Iowa, Ohio, Nevada and New Mexico. Kerry lost all four of those by two points or less.

Considering that you called Hawaii for Bush even though it went Kerry by more than eight points, I think I would refrain from ridiculing others’ prediction skills. But hey…that’s me.

Besides, a few erroneous predictions of an election outcome are much easier to justify than post-mortem declarations of Bush victory in the worst debate performance since James Stockdale in 1992. Comparing apples to oranges doesn’t make Hewitt look any more credible.

How’s that “destined to fail” iPod Mini doing these days? What was it you called it? Apple’s biggest blunder, or something?

I said it was “guaranteed to fail.”

Sadly, I don’t have godlike powers over space and time, and if I did I wouldn’t be blogging right now, I’d be on a tropical island being served daquiris by Catherine Zeta-Jones.
