Enterprise To Boldly Go No More

UPN has pulled the plug on Star Trek: Enterprise. This isn’t terrifically surprising, as the ratings for Enterprise generally stunk. I wasn’t a huge fan of the show, but it’s sad in some ways to see the Star Trek franchise go out like this.

Then again, if Trek can come back rejuvenated in a few years with some new (green) blood, the death of Enterprise may be a blessing in disguise for the long-running franchise.

  1. The sad thing is that this is (in my humble opinion, anyway) Enterprise’s best season. The writing has gotten much better and the show had begun fixing some of the continuity errors of the first three seasons.

  2. It is too little too late unfortunately. Nothing about the show made me watch it the next week. If I flipped past it on the tube, I may stick around until the next commercial.
Personally, I think it is time for another franchise to take over for a while.

  3. I agree with Matt. The show was much improved this season, with better stories and better writing. Each week I was pleasantly surprised. Though I can’t help but thining that the UPN suits saw Battlestar Galactica and in comparison realized how far Enterprise had to go to be that good.
