Sanctuary

One of the biggest problems with the blogosphere is that there’s so damned much good stuff it would take several lifetimes to read it all.

Bill Whittle’s incredibly brilliant essay entitled Sanctuary is an example of some of the best writing I’ve seen in a very long time. It’s a meandering but incredibly astute piece. The part about the Egyptian pharoah discovering a 7-11 in the second half of the essay is quite possibly one of the singularly most intriguing thought experiments I’ve read in a very long time.

I’d quote from it, but there’s just too much good stuff in it to have a quote do it justice. Read this one now — you’ll be glad you did.
