The Pentagon is confirming early reports that Abu Mus’ab al-Zarqawi was alive when coalition troops arrived at his Baquba safehouse, but died shortly after and before he could be interrogated.
Caldwell, the chief U.S. military spokesman in Iraq, said Zarqawi tried to roll off the gurney to escape once he became aware of the fact that he was being taken into custody by coalition troops Wednesday night after two 500-pound precision guided bombs blew up his safehouse near Baqouba.
Good. He died knowing he’d been captured – knowing he was completely and utterly screwed. Not only was he killed, but he died cornered like a trapped animal, unable to escape his fate.
Serves the butcher right.
I like the idea of the last thing that butcher seeing was the uniforms of United States Army. Hope the bastard enjoys his stay in hell.
Greg…
Wouldn’t you rather want him NOT to enjoy his stay hin hell?

We should all be more like Michael Berg and see the tragedy in this senseless death!!! 🙂
I heard it was Jack Murtha that al Queada picked to replace Zarqawi!
