Aimee Deep says that Osama bin Laden is dead.
So does The Mirror. They both seem to be using the same report from a former al-Qaeda fighter who said that Osama bin Laden was killed when his cave in Tora Bora was bombed on December 10, 2001.
I think they’re right.
I think December 10 is going to be the day I open up a bottle of champagne and toast the fact that Osama bin Laden is now enjoying an eternity of suffering and pain at the hands of a very angry God. Personally, I think an eternity of living through the dying moments of every single person killed by al-Qaeda would be an appropriate punishment, but then again, I’ll just take comfort in the fact that the murderous bastard will never kill again…
That’s interesting. Of course, if I were Osama (I’m not, by the way), I would have faked my own death as a cover while I escaped to Africa. Of course, there are still some unanswered questions-
1. This is just one soldier’s report, after all. Are any more al-Qaeda verifying this?
2. What about Osama’s entourage? Where are his wives? His children? His teams of aides and guards? We’re not talking about one guy here, ya know- and if NONE of them have been found, that makes me a little suspicious. Surely one of them survived, if Osama was blown up? Or are they still with him, hiding somewhere we haven’t been looking in (such as the war-torn Islamic states of the southern former Soviet Union… or even Egypt, by now.)
Just to make it short, I’m not trusting this rumor, and I wouldn’t pop the bubbly just yet. I’m afraid that Osama’s dance with Old Sammy ain’t done by a long shot.
(Come to think of it, scratch Africa- if I were Osama, I’d be brushing up on my spanish and portuguese and shaving off my beard- considering how much the US likes to ignore South America, would we ever think of looking there? 🙂 )
