The Dutch Get It Right

Rod Dreher has a post in NRO’s Corner about
security at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport
and how much better it is in comparison to US airport security. Having flown through Schiphol several times myself, I have to admit that it’s probably one of the world’s best airports both in terms of comfort and security. Yes, each passenger or group is interrogated by Dutch security before embarking on the plane. (And they all speak flawless English, something that not even all the American security personnel do!) It can be a minor inconvienence, (especially if you’re travelling with someone from Bangladesh in your group) but that level of security is also comforting in a way, especially after September 11. Perhaps Underperformin’ Norman should take a trip over to Amsterdam to see how airport security should work.
