Last week, the New York Times ran a headline piece that claimed that hundreds upon hundreds of Afghans had been killed in US bombing strikes. I knew something about that report was fishy, and now James Taranto provides the proof that the NYT has once again gone off the deep end.
The group that released the report on civilian casualties? A far-left group that opposed the war in the first place and describes Republicans as "terrorists".
This is what media bias is all about. The media accepting a report by a biased organization while doing no fact checking and reporting it as the truth. It’s either intentional deception or journalistic laziness or a striking combination of both. However, it’s things like this that ensure that the New York Times is more of a far-left tabloid than the nation’s newspaper of record.
