LotR- best movie I’d seen since Fight Club… and I’ve seen quite a few movies since then. Peter Jackson truly did the impossible- he made a fantasy movie that took itself seriously, had skillful acting and gorgeous cinematography, not to mention the most stirring soundtrack this side of Star Wars.
I’m going to wait until the Director’s Cut comes out in November though before I pick up the DVD… I’ll just watch the movie with Adam until then 🙂
Actually, from what I understand, the November 4-disc set will have completely different extras and a completely different cut from the theatrical version that’s out now – precisely because they want fans to buy both… 🙂
Just based on the preview on the disc _Two Towers_ looks like it’s going to be just as good as FOTR, and perhaps even better…
Yeah, I watched the preview for both TTT and the Extended FotR on Disc 2 tonight… WOW. And I thought the first movie was a treat. I spent a day doing nothing but rolling around on my bed delirious and reading “The Silmarillion” while listening to Enya CD’s over and over after the night I saw FotR for the first time- what will TTT do to me? 🙂
