John Derbyshire has a very good column in NRO today that includes Donald Rumsfeld, the sack of Rome, and the fact that the Arab world lost to Israel four times. It’s one of Derbyshire’s better works, and a piece fit for a conservative – a piece that reminds us that those things which happened in antiquity still can teach us a thing or two today.
