John Hawkins elaborates more on the reaction to Iraq’s inspection offer and why the White House isn’t buying it. Common sense clearly indicates that Iraq has some kind of ulterior motive in allowing inspectors in, and despite their claims these inspections will be anything but unfettered.
The White House set a clear set of conditions that would forestall an invasion. Iraq has not given up their weapons capability, and they aren’t about to. The White House isn’t going to let Saddam slide by this time – we’re still set to make sure that this cobra is defanged one way or another.
