Brink Lindsay has a well argued point that weapons inspections are not going to be enough to guarantee that Saddam isn’t developing WMDs. Given the evidence, and given the fact that Iraq is doing whatever it can to finish their nuclear development program, it’s clear that the inspections offer is just a measure to stall for time.
Saddam may think he’s bought enough time, but I don’t think anything is going to stop the inevitable military action and regime change. Saddam’s days are numbered, inspections or no inspections.
