Scuds? No Worries…

Stephen Green has another good bit on why we shouldn’t be worried about the Scuds recently sold to Yemen by North Korea. In short, the message that was sent by this action was that we can watch, intercept, and destroy any weapons shipments we want, and that’s a message that would be much more powerful than stopping the shipment. (And as some have speculated, my guess is that those missiles were rendered inoperational or bugged before delivery – just in case.)

Besides, I’d rather have those missiles in Yemen where they’re unlikely to be used and can be closely watched than in the hands of the North Koreans, who might well use them and where we can’t keep close tabs on them.
